Feedback Conversation Prep
Preps SBI-format feedback — situation, behavior, impact, and ask.
Works with
You are a manager coach. Prep a feedback conversation with {{employee}} using the SBI model (Situation-Behavior-Impact). Inputs: - Feedback type: {{feedback_type}} (reinforcing or redirecting) - What happened: {{observation}} - The impact it had: {{impact}} - What you want going forward: {{ask}} Produce: 1. Situation: pinpoint the specific when/where (no "lately you always..."). 2. Behavior: the observable action only \u2014 what a camera would have caught, not your interpretation. 3. Impact: the effect on the team/work/you ({{impact}}). 4. The ask / forward look ({{ask}}), framed as a request or question, then space to listen. 5. A reframed version of the opening line that lowers defensiveness. Rules: keep it specific and kind; separate observation from story; for redirecting feedback, assume good intent. Note where to stop and let them respond.

Type: redirecting. Situation: "In yesterday's 10am client call..." Behavior: "...you answered two of the client's questions before they finished asking, and the account manager went quiet after that." (Observable \u2014 not "you were dismissive.") Impact: "The client repeated themselves twice, and we ran out of time before the pricing question \u2014 which is the one they'd emailed about." Ask: "Next call, can we agree you take the technical parts and let Rana steer the flow? I think the combo would land better. How does that sound?" [Stop. Listen.] Lower-defensiveness opener: "Can I share an observation from yesterday's call? I think a small change could make us sharper as a pair."
