Does ChatGPT actually recommend local businesses in the Gulf?

I've been testing prompts like "best [service] in Riyadh / Dubai / Kuwait" across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Some categories return real local names; others return only global brands or nothing useful.

Curious what others are seeing — which industries and cities are getting recommended well, and which are totally invisible? Drop your prompt and what the AI actually said.

In my tests, hospitality and clinics in Dubai get named fairly often, but B2B services (IT, logistics, agencies) are mostly invisible — AI defaults to global names. The difference seems to be review presence: the businesses that show up have lots of Google / directory reviews and a clear services page.

Matches what I see. Adding an llms.txt and proper Organization schema moved a couple of our test brands from "not mentioned" to "mentioned with a description" within a few weeks. Measure first, then fix.
