English Language Learner (ELL) Support Plan

Build ELL supports for {{grade_and_content}}:

1. Pre-teaching vocabulary:
   - Tier 2 words (academic, cross-disciplinary): 10-15 words
   - Tier 3 words (domain-specific): 5-8 words
   - For each, provide: English term, Arabic equivalent (if applicable), visual, sentence context

2. Sentence frames & language structures:
   - Provide frame templates for key language functions
   - E.g., "[Noun] causes [noun] because..."
   - E.g., "I agree with [name] because..."

3. Visual & graphic supports:
   - Recommend 2-3 visuals (infographics, concept maps, videos)
   - Ensure cultural relevance

4. Comprehensible input strategies:
   - Slow, clear speech with pauses
   - Gesture & modeling
   - Chunking content
   - Realia (real objects)

5. Output scaffolds:
   - Oral response options (partner talk, recorded message)
   - Written response templates (essay frames, graphic organizer)
   - Reduced linguistic load if needed (without reducing cognitive demand)

6. Home language connections:
   - Encourage L1 use in peer discussion/brainstorming
   - Provide resource list in home language

Include a progress monitoring checklist (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
